Our privacy approach
Wattle Markdown Printer is designed so your rendered GitHub Markdown, repository content and source code do not need to leave your browser in order to prepare a print or PDF document.
The extension does not upload your Markdown, repository content or source code to Wattle Pixel Co or any third party.
Data collection
The extension does not transmit or share the following as part of its document-processing workflow:
- document content or personal information found in documents
- browsing history
- repository content
- source code or Markdown content
- GitHub authentication data
- browser cookies
- usage analytics or telemetry
Network activity
Document processing is local. The extension does not send page content to Wattle Pixel Co or another service. Pro validates a signed licence file locally after you import it; it does not send document content for licensing.
Printing and Save as PDF are handled by your browser and operating system.
Permissions
The extension requests only the Chrome permissions needed for its single purpose:
- activeTab — temporary access to the current browser tab after you explicitly invoke the extension.
- scripting — used to create a temporary print-only representation of the rendered Markdown and prepare Chrome Print Preview.
The extension does not request a persistent GitHub host permission.
Local settings
Your selected print preferences, such as document style and print-option toggles, may be stored locally in the extension's browser origin so they can be remembered between uses.
These preferences do not contain your Markdown or repository content and are not transmitted to Wattle Pixel Co. Pro profiles, templates and imported licence details are also stored locally in the extension.
Pro purchases and licensing
Pro licences are signed files sent to the email address used at checkout. The extension verifies an imported licence locally, without uploading your Markdown, repository content or licence file for activation.
When Pro checkout opens, payment will be handled on the Wattle Pixel Co website through Stripe. Checkout and licence delivery use the information you provide for the purchase, including your email address. This purchase process is separate from the extension’s document-processing workflow; see our website Privacy Policy.
How document processing works
When you invoke Wattle Markdown Printer on a supported GitHub page, the extension works with the rendered Markdown already visible in the active tab and checks the active tab URL/hostname to confirm the page is on github.com. It creates a temporary local print representation, applies your selected document formatting, and opens Chrome Print Preview.
This website content and active-tab browsing context are processed locally in your browser. They are not transmitted to Wattle Pixel Co or any third party, are not used for advertising or profiling, and are not retained after the print workflow.
Temporary print elements are removed after the print flow. The extension does not maintain a repository-content database.
Analytics and tracking
Wattle Markdown Printer does not use analytics, telemetry, advertising trackers or behavioural profiling.
Limited Use
Wattle Pixel Co's use of information accessed by Wattle Markdown Printer adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information accessed for the extension's single purpose is not used for personalised advertising, sold to data brokers, or exposed to humans except where permitted by that policy.
Changes to this policy
If the extension's privacy model changes in a future release, this policy and the Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures will be updated before that version is published.
